Mark your calendars for the 39th annual State of Maine Sportsman’s Show, March 29-31, 2019 at the Augusta Civic Center!

Saturday 9am-7pm
Sunday 9am-4pm

Government agencies, such as DIF&W (wardens and biologists) and the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (tick disease prevention experts) educated and informed attendees. Experts on tracking, hunting and trapping held numerous seminars. And Zachary Fowler exhibited his “Maine reed boat” (see more about that in this issue) in the main lobby.

New England Bushcraft Show 2019

Dates have not been established: The New England Bushcraft Show is the only adventure show, catering for enthusiasts of bushcraft; wilderness skills; hunting; back country travel and overlanding in our region. More than 30 hours of programming from vendors, wilderness skills instructors, survival programs and outdoor experts set up basecamp for the day.

Attendees will exchange knowledge, practice skills and hone techniques. Lots of product demonstrations, skills workshops and talks from leading Bushcraft and wilderness skills experts. Go to www.NewEnglandBushcraft.org for more information.

You are invited to the 5th annual Puckerbrush Primitive Gathering
being held July 19-21, 2019 at Pleasant River Fish & Game Conservation Association in Columbia, Maine.

Puckerbrush is a celebration of traditional
archery, bushcraft, art, outdoors, and ancestral skills. It is an opportunity for people with a diverse range of
backgrounds and a shared interest in an older, simpler way of doing things to gather, both sharing and learning
skills. This is very much a “hands on” event, kids of all ages are encouraged to get their hands dirty and have
fun!
